Talgarth offers superb walking, with diverse terrain and stunning views from the Black Mountains. Talgarth is a Walkers are Welcome town. Starting in 2013 Talgarth Walking Festival has been organised by Talgarth Walkers are Welcome group during the first weekend in May which has put Talgarth on the “must do” walking venues for walkers. A booklet “Walks around Talgarth” has been produced and is available from Talgarth Tourist Information Centre.

Through Park Wood to Rhos Fawr
Grade Moderate to hard, distance 8miles/12km. Leads you to where witches were drowned to prove their innocence or guilt. walk_1.pdf
Llanelieu and its Ancient Church
Grade Moderate Distance 6 miles/9km. Takes you to the notorious Whipping Tree where you can still see the holes where hands were restrained. walk_2.pdf
Castell Dinas via the Gliding Club
Grade Moderate to hard Distance 7miles/11km. Climb up to the highest Castle ruins in England & Wales 1476 feet above sea level. walk_3.pdf
Mynydd Troed & Penyrwlodd Long Cairn
Grade Moderate Distance 8 miles/12km. Discover Penywrlodd Long Cairn where at least fifteen human remains were discovered. walk_4.pdf
Town walk around Talgarth
